Performing Lean Training and Implementation
The Problem
Jacobs is one of the largest and most diverse providers of technical, professional, and construction services. This includes all aspects of architecture, engineering and construction, operations, and maintenance, as well as scientific and specialty consulting.
They operate with 77,000+ employees in 400+ locations globally serving the broadest range of companies and organisations, including industrial, commercial, and government clients across multiple markets and geographies.
Jacobs sought an experienced operations improvement consultancy to perform Lean Training and Implementation. Bourton Group LLP was chosen because of our ability to provide the best overall program of services.
The Solution
Since our appointment, we have supported Jacobs Solutions with the implementation of a comprehensive Lean Six Sigma programme. We have certified Green Belts, Black Belts, and Master Black Belts while providing Lean awareness training and extensive coaching for leaders and teams.
Our programme involved training and coaching over 130 personnel (to date) from Jacob’s Global Business Services (GBS) Division in areas such as Finance, HR, IT, and other supporting functions.
The nature of GBS means that training and coaching are being provided on a global basis notably in Poland, India, the UK, USA, and Australasia. It also means that accreditation must be based on a globally recognised standard.
The investment in training and certification is positioning Jacobs Solutions GBS for sustained growth and success in a competitive market.
The Benefits
